Hi Bob,
Early December is a good timing. The fishing season in Binuangeun area starts in November and finishes in May. I my self with my "gang" will go fishing over there on November 3 & 4 .
Fishing techniqies most commonly apllied are trolling ( it is a must), bottom fishing and jigging. Popping is only performed when there are schools of YFTuna or you would like to spend some time around Tinjil Island! Baits for bottom fishing is squid and mackerel. The captain or the owner of the boat shall buy the baits for you. Have enough sinkers weighing 200 to 300 grams! By the way, you should ask the boat owner to lend you enough trolling rods and reels, so you bring only your lures (Rapala or Kona Head).
MV Robby is one of the largest wooden fishing boats in Binuangeun. I have not used it by I believe it is in good condition. I know the owner (Mr. Achmadi).
Thank you for your reply and feed-back. Would you kindly provide me with MV Robby owner contact numbers in Jakarta as my friend have problem contacting him to confirm our booking.
Also, I forgot how to access to this forum site whether it's fishytalk or fishytrip etc.. please help!
I would appreciate if you can provide me your cell phone number Jakarta or email address so I can correspond or call you from Singapore.
Many thanks to you and all those that have reply to my post yesterday. Sorry to say that I cannot reply in bahasa Indonesia.
Hi Bob, i usually contact a local guy named Uus to help me booking a fishing boat as well as the cottage at Berkah Cottage. You can contact Uus at 085219392944. Usually he will arrange everything and I'll give him some tip when I get there.
I used to fish there a lot until 2-3 years ago. Never fish with KM Robby though.
You can do almost every kind of fishing in Binuangeun. 'Tanjung Selatan' (South Cape) of Tinjil and Deli Island are very good GT popping ground. Jigging can be done in Karang Tengah, Benawo, and Cihara. Bottom fishing can be done in the same area as jigging. Trolling can be done from all species, from Narrowbarred mackerel to Marlin. Binuangeun is also a good location for Sailfish.
Most of the fish will be in 5-10 kg area, except the GT and the billfishes. If you jig, make sure the boat is anchored at deeper location than bottom fishing. For example in Karang Tengah, when botom fishing ussually the boat is anchored at 80 m depth, when jigging move a little bit to 100 or 120m depth.
You can also call Berkah Resort and ask them to make arrangement for you. That is the only 'acceptable' place to stay in that area. THe phone no. is +622525600378 or its manager, Mr. Slamet, at 081510369904

You are welcome Bob,
Below are the additional information you require:
1. Mr. Achmadi (MV Robby's owner) 's mobile phones number :+62811835980 and +6281519063890. His Office Phone number : +62214251617. His email address: achmadi_na@jatidiritrans.co.id
Notes: There other boats that I usually rented like Surya II (fully air conditioned wooden boat, the same size as Robby), Pratama, Shakila, Putra Sulung, etc. The booking can be done directly ( Iprefer to do that) with the boat owner or captain. I can give you their phone numbers if you need them).
There are few cottages available in Binu. The one which is rather new and most conveniently at the bank of the river mouth is Berkah Cottage. The name of the Manager is Mr. Slamet. His mobile phone number is +6281510369904. The rate is approximately SGD $.100,- per cottage (2 rooms for 4 persons) excluding breakfast. Mrs. Slamet is also the agent for Surya II (and Surya I).
2. Your thread is posted under the Fishy Region topic, and Muara Binuangeun Sub-Topic/Fishy Trip (After you log ini, you click Forum and go directly to Fishy Region - Muara Binuangeun area.
3. I would prefer to provide my mobile phone or phone numbers and my email addresses through PM. Is that ok with you?

Actually, you can contact the boat owners or boat captains directly. If you care to search for the right thread in this forum we have listed the name of almost all boats and cottages and their contact phone numbers. We even have reviews and evaluation of most boats and their captains!
With regards to the boats, of course it depends on the class and quality of the boats you want to use. With quality/class I mean safety and basic equipments such as FF, GPS, Radio, Gen-Set, and their cleanliness (esp. toilets).

Pak Ruky,

Salam,
Rasanya 2 atau 3 bulan lalu pernah dibuat. Coba nanti saya cek lagi.
Bagaimana?

Makasih Pak Ruky...moga2 menjadi perhatian Bung Admin...
