Default Fly buat bandeng!

Hook: Saltwater ringan tapi kuat #2
Benang: Flat waxed mono chartreuse
Body: Calftail putih & chartreuse jangan kebanyakan tied only on the head
,streamer style.
Wing : Chartreuse antron yarn, then folded at the end of the shank back in
at the head to form an elongated"halo",which swells when wet, giving
the fly its algae look.
Head: Chartreuse atau green thread & head cement.

Salam,
Victor.

Wah,bung Jerry bikin saya garuk kepala!
Hook dari Trey Combs banyak dipergunakan(buatan Gamakatsu),tapi Tiemco or Owner Aki will do!
Terima kasih!
Victor.

Hey Victor,
I think they call that fly "Arno's Milkie Dream," or something like that....thanks for sharing.

i think Budi (snook fly) tried some algae patterns but the fish in the stocked ponds are fed pellets....so you have to chum them up with bread or pellets and use pellet flys (salmon egg patterns work too) or bread flys (tied from clumps of deer hair). sort of strange chumming fish in a fish pond but hey it works!
The fly you posted should be good for wild fish....anyone know where there are wild milkies in Indo that you can sight fish to?

Cheers,
Jim

Sometimes the can be found close to Sanghyang Island. Big size, about 6 kg each.

@Victor- I've just read an article fr "wildonfly" magz 2003 edition provided by Budi fly about this particular fly...and it's exactly what jim said about the effectivenss for wild milkfish.
@Jim-I had once spotted the wild one while wading at P. Laki.. and it was tailing and may be feeding for the little crustacean or seaweed...Unfortunately I was targetting into something else...(read : cumi2)...distance from me abt 2-3 meter away and it were abt 3-5 school of big ones... I'b never experience again since.

Some folks told me tt in Shangyang island were occasionally spotted also for this milkfish...

let'g go! 6kg on a fly would be quite a fight...not as big as some of them in the Seychelles but big enough!

If you can see them and cast up current, floating the fly (dead drift) past them in their "feeding lane" you might have a chance. I don't think you would have much of a chance if you were just blind casting to them...need to be sight casting

Budi (snookfly) mentioned they can be near sangyang but the one time we went out there together we did not find any....maybe we didn't look in the right spot.

P. Laki (part of p. seribu) is just 1 hour boat ride fr Tg Kait. you can wade around the island which take about 1.5 hour to complete. However, this island is well know to get a squid which they also wade....(actually I made a fly lure to get squid also..hehehehe)...
My self only ever caught a garfish only on fly....

But since this island is also a destination for locals during the weekend.. so it would not be so clean and neat..

Salam semua,

How bout homosasa florida in may, there should be
rod breaking activities over there!

But seychelles should be fun also , maybe too pricy, so we should look around
closer. Bali maybe, there are bones there..
I got other type of fly for milkys from old mags dated in the 90's
but havent got a chance to try them here. Ones I saw in Sangyang
was on the smaller side.

However there are reports about 2-3 kg milkys in ponds around indramayu.
Need to do a drive by eh? just say when...
