3.Float
4.6 point hooks or more/multi hooks(pancing garong we call it here in

1.Algae (green algae,red algae,clay algae)
2.Pulverized rice
3.Sliced of: fish,scallop,squid,shrimp,

Thumbs up Nice Catch......

What a nice catch, Ed......! Tom already answered your questions. He also included my favorite rigging of multi hooks : seven hooks, ha..ha..ha...... Better percentage of hook up rate for me indeed, he..he..he....

Just try to catch those "targets" using our recommendations, you'll feel the excited sensations, I guarantee..... hi..hi..hi...... I think there's no pole rod there, just use the usual rod using reel.

Otreh deh kakak......my tongue's split amburadully, hua..ha..ha....... Lidah gue belibet ngomong pake bahasa tarzan terus, he..he..he....

Enjoy the fight & again, welcome to the rabbit fishes fishing community. Just ask Tom to send you all RAFAC's accessories including clothes, gear (pole rod ++), hat, etc. He'll send them to you freely, ha..ha..ha........

Salam lidah keplintir ,

Mr Ed,
I'm very glad to hear that rabbitfish fever also struck you. Please kindly inform us for your method ; whether using a single hook or a multi hooked one?? Have you been stunk?? it feel so great!!! To be acknowledged as a rabbitfisher and joining into the club - have been stunk by rabbitfish are compulsory here ; ha ha ha ha.... everybody here have got stunk and enjoy the thrill.....
So if you are still a 'virgin' - please have it for yourself - stink your fingers when you got one....

For Mullet fish : here we call it 'belanak' ; once I saw Mr Tom landed 2 mullets weighted around 1/2 kg, by using fixed pole and sweet bread bait.

Please inform us for your body size ; will check whether we can send you some Rafac accesories such as T shirt and stickers - but you have to promise us to post the fishing report and your pictures when you put Rafac accessories in your country... we'll be very happy if we can spread our wing abroad...

@ Mr. Jovan

Thanks a lot.

@ Mr jeff / volans

thanks a lot for the info.

@ Mr.ferry/monyet

Yeah It struck me a lot... I'm using 2 hooks in each line (2 line)
Yes I've been stung for several times before it was so painful but now it takes only around 3min. and after that I feel fine again. he he he.
I really love pole fishing specially rabbitfish. You can feel the sensation...
All the stress for the whole week at work will disappear once I went for fishing specially If I had a good catch.

Thanks for the rafac accessories by the way my body size is medium I'm 5'3'' in height...yes I'll promise to post my pictures
I hope that someday their will be some English section in this forum so that people like me which is not speaking Indonesian language would be easy to participate in the discussion. by the way I hope someday I will learn and speak your language

Kindly check the simple illustration below I hope It will give some idea although I know that a lot of master and expert in fishing in this community

The reason why I am using two size of fishing line is that even if you catch a big ones..always It cut on the smaller line. It means you will not lost your floater.

Here are my catch last months I think got around 20kgs to 25kgs of rabbit fish. sometimes I even catch 2 rabbit fish at the same time. I started 8:00 am to 12:00 pm... and I was stung 4 times but it feels great. Some other time I'll post my photos along with my catch.

I think we have a lot of rabbitfish here in Jeddah

best regards & more power to fishyforum.

Mr Ed,
Nice catch!!! please don't hesitate to post your writings, we'll be very glad to have report or story of other country. You can write in English, as most of our members have fluent English, but don't write on Arabic hahahaha....

Here we using a multiple hooked, can be contained with 6 - 8 hooks. So the fish can be hooked all over its body, but mostle on its lower head side.

For the apparels, you can call Mr Jovan as he is our Treasurer.

Ed,
There was...........English forum here, but it was "die" since there were only little participants that contributed to the forum. Most of this forum members are Indonesian you know? he..he..he..... They might be discussed with other anglers abroad in fishingkaki.com forum, I don't know. Actually this is also one of RAFAC's aim/goal, to "poison" international anglers on rabbit fish fishing, starting from nearest community which is fishingkaki, but until now no one had the spirit of this. I myself don't have enough time to introduce RAFAC to them. I hope other RAFAC's member will start to think of this......starting from now.

20 kg's by yourself ? Wow........ You already had many parties then, ha..ha..ha...... By the way, those fork tail/schooling/silver rabbit fish (Siganus Argenteus) had the similarity with sea grass/white-spotted rabbit fish (Siganus Canaliculatus) or dusky rabbit fish (Siganus Fuscescens) here (see www.fishbase.org).

Again, congrats Ed! Don't get tired to explore new potential spots there in Jeddah / Saudi Arabia. Once you find the "place" of gold-saddle/golden rabbit fish (Siganus Guttatus), you'll get more "poisoned"......! Ha..ha..ha..... I guarantee this....!

Cheers ,

Hi Ed,
Welcome to rabbitfishing society. I salute you for the nice catches and interest. These guys here, they are not expert in rabbitfish, but worst...they're MANIACS (like Johan, Tom, Ichang, Hamzy, etc sorry guys...it's true though)....some of them are about to turn into rabbitfish soon hehehehe...
I believe rabbitfish consider as an omnivore...they eat both veggies and meat. However, type of baits depending on the habitat where they live (some people even use meatballs!), algae remains their main diet (I use algae all the time and it never fails me, so far). If bread works...keep using it. Unless the fish got tired with bread then you must find a new menu hahahaha...
Here, we usually sized the fish by comparing number of our fingers (including thumb) to the fish height (mostly rabbitfish). Perhaps on your next report, you may able show off your biggest catch by how many fingers (like 10 or 12 fingers?you'll make these guys drooling).

cheers,

Alex

Mr. Ferry,

Thanks! Yes I will try post more, & thanks for the hooks info I think I try to make some of those since only available in here were contained 3 hooks only. For the apparrel I try to PM Mr. Jovan

Mr. Ikhsan/ Ichang,

I was very glad that I was welcome here in this nice community, I hope that someday RAFAC will be like _fishingkaki.com... anyway I'll try to introduce to my fellow angler here in jeddah.

Yes... 20 kgs (65pcs of 5 fingers & 10 4 finger size) by my self. Since I was alone in my room I'm not able to eat all those fish and no place to put in my refrigerators so I gave to some of close friends of mine. They were very happy coz the fish were so fresh....by the I keeping my catch in a long net basket which is the end is in the water so the fish is still alive and moving. Thanks for the fish info link.

Alex,

Thanks! You bet! once you tried to catch rabbit fish you will keep on fishing...like me while at work I want the days to move fast so that I can go fishing during holiday (Friday).
you know, before I don't know how to catch this rabbitfish..mostly I'm on snapper and some other type of fish. Then one day one Lebanese guy thought me some basic techniques to catch this tasty fish. I still remember that day, I will not forget because I catch around 15 kgs of rabbitfish. Most of my catch were around 5 finger the biggest, 4 fingers mostly and smallest one is 3 fingers.

Djoko,

Thanks!

best regards

Hamzy was right. 7,2 m is quite a long pole; However, it also depend on the water depth. If it only 5 m, we would recommend 4,5 or 5,4 m pole. It works better and lighter than 7,2. I guess you figured it out already hehehehe...
In my case, I put some weight (stainless steel) at the back knob to balance the front and back to avoid arms fatigue.
Some of us even use braided line (PE) no.2 or 3, which is 5-10x stronger than nylon, tied with 10-12 lb double fluoro leader (about 50 cm long) in case we got the big ones.
Hehehehe 4 fingers for non-asian hands consider big (probably 5-6 fingers to ours)....

Hamzy,
No I'm a typical Asian by the way I'm an expats from Manila, Philippines who is working in a French company here in Jeddah. If I'm catching a big ones my pole turns out like U shape....but I'm putting extra care you need to play while fighting. since I'm am using graphite carbon and its weight was 120 g so no arm fatigue.

Alex,
Yes I guess your right but my friends of mine has 9 meters 300g he bought it from Korea. I'm planning to buy 12 meters weight 600g this Model from this site what do you think? base on their advertisement. Thanks for the line info... I'll try to do that its, a good idea.

Best regards
