Question Minta Info Mancing di Lombok

Hello,
Saya pergi ke Lombok next week. Ada manching bagus di area ini? Does anyone know a good guide, or area to fish from shore? Any mangroves to explore? Looking for shallow areas....maybe with bonefish, or kakap putih. If not maybe a day trip on a boat for GT's? Any info at all really appreciated! Maaf bahasa indonesia saya belum bagus

Terima kasih,
Redfish aka Jim

There was a good captain in a few years back. His name is Saliman. Normally you can contact him through a small tackle shop in Ampenan. The shop is one only and the oldest tackle shop there. He's really an experienced angler and a good captain. Used to bring Jap anglers and apparently he's quite popular also in Japan. Saw his picture once in Japanese Angler magazine.....

may be you should try peter jones, 081 803 762001
he was guiding several times my guests from national geographic and oberoi hotel for fishing and diving and i have a good feedback from them.

tehre are several other operator in bali that runs trips to lombok directly from bali. so far i can only found peter that stations in Lombok.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions and information I will try the phone numbers provided and see what happens. We leave tomorrow night so time to get the gear ready tonight. I am bringing mainly fly gear as I don't have any travel spinning rods....hoping any captain will if I charter a trolling boat. will report back on what happens.

Terima Kasih Banyak!

Tight Lines,
Jim

Great, relaxing vacation but....No luck with the fishing. Big wind, waves and rain made it difficult to get out. I did try to cast a fly on the beach for about 15 minutes but the 20-25 mph winds made it a lost cause!
When is the best season to fish this area?

Thanks again for the contact info people provided, hopefully I will get to use it one day when I get back to Lombok.

Tight Lines,
Redfish
