Rasanya mungkin asik kalo bisa bikin sendiri lure yg kita inginkan dengan model dan warna yang sesuai dengan keinginan kita. Bahkan ada kebanggaan jika lure yang kita buat itu bisa menipu ikan. Mungkin ada diantara kita yang ingin membuat lure sendiri tapi tidak tahu bagaimana memulainya. Mari kita share di threat ini cara membuat lure.

First of all i am using Balsa wood for this lure, but you can use many different types of wood instead. I like Balsa because its very easy to use, and after a few coats of dope it's a lot stronger than people would think. The methods i use in this way of building a lure might have to be slightly modified if you choose to use a harder wood, such as carving out the channels for the wire and bib with a chisel. If you rather use a harder wood it might end up being easier to use a different method of mounting the wire, like cutting a grove through the center of the lure body and epoxying in the wire. Ill make another step by step post for that method sometime in the future. You might have to experiment with bib shapes and the angle you set the bib at, depending on the action you want and how deep you want the lure to dive. Another thing with using Balsa wood or any other very high buoyancy wood, you might have to add some lead to take a bit of the buoyancy away so the lure can dive. And even if you want to mess around with the weight a bit more, you can try to make the lure suspending.
I started off by cutting a piece of Balsa in half and then cut out the shape of lure i wanted. Then i traced the shape i cut out onto the other half of the balsa and cut it out so i had two matching pieces.
Then i put the two pieces together and filed them down so they were exactly the same.
I would put more attention to the underside because its a lot harder to do after the wire had been fitted.
Then it's time to bend the wire to fit the lure, i start off by bending the wire slightly with some pliers before fully bending the wire around a nail.
Now you have to work out where you wan the second eyelet to come out and bend the wire down.
Then start to bend the wire with the pliers first to help before putting it around the nail again and finishing it off.
Then you have to bend the wire down to the angle that you want the bib to be.
Then comes the bib, this is only acrylic which is really not strong enough to use but will do for now. Polycarbonate is what should be used.
Here's the bib after cutting a couple of notches out to make it easier to insert.
After putting the wire where i wanted it to be, i put the lure in the vice and pressed it together to make the groves for the wire.
Then i did the same thing but with the bib to make two notches in the wood for it to sit in.
Then i drilled three small holes in the bib for the loop to come through.
Then i put the wire through the hole and marked where it had to be bent, and bent the loop using the same methods as before.
Here's both sides epoxied up and ready to be stuck together using the vice as a clamp.
Here's the lure glued together and starting to gain shape. You may notice a different bib setup now, this is why you shouldn't use acrylic lol because it just doesn't have the strength. Its good enough to use for an example though lol maybe.
Like i said before this is just one of the ways of building a lure, it's not the only way, if people don't like it there's plenty of other ways of doing it thumbsupsmilie Hope this helps anyone who wanted to give it a go.
