After tying hundreds of regular mice, I decided to try something a little different. People would ask "What do catch with a mouse?" I would tell them... "Catfish!"- (Hardy har har). Then I would tell them "Actually, you could catch bass, pike, and large trout on a mouse pattern". Then one day I added the species "Tiger Muskie" (very much like a pike) to the list of predators and thought that a "Tiger Mouse" would be the perfect "Fantasy Fly" for a Tiger Muskie. So I tied up a Tiger Mouse, developing a method to tie in stripes on the top and yet keep the white belly. It was a very popular addition to the rest of the Fantasy Flies. Sometimes I refer to it as a "Tiger Mouskie".
